Medium brown with olive brown around the peripheries on the obverse, the reverse is mostly the latter olive brown, with fine roughness on the surfaces. There are also traces of old scale around the forehead. The obverse is sharper than the reverse, the latter with only faint outlines of the devices and legends, while the obverse portrait is fully outlined and the date and LIBERTY readable.
