This piece by Jonathan Logan might as well be in a museum, as it serves as a definitive archetype of late 1960's - early 1970's fashion. From the dagger collar to the quad pockets, to the plaid print itself, this button down shacket ticks all the boxes.

Although the fabric content tag is no longer present, I'd say this light-to-mid-weight garment is likely a wool-poly blend. Though I have a sneaking suspicion that it's perhaps crimplene. Super popular throughout the 1960s because it was easy to care for, but ceased in the mid 70s. That being said, it'd date this shirt to be within that time frame.

Leaning more towards mid-weight, this piece is perfect for a fall day, especially given that the predominant colors are autumnal by definition: mustard yellow, rusty orange, cream, and dark navy. Pair with a pair of dark rinse bellbottom jeans and you are *set*

6 dark navy buttons down the front makes for the closure. 2 breast pockets and 2 hip pockets close with a pointed tab, each fastening with matching dark navy buttons, allowing for plenty of storage.

This item is in phenomenal vintage condition, and the integrity is truly uncompromised. It speaks to the manufacturing quality of days gone by.

Thusly, there are no tears, rips, snags, busted seams, felled hems, or weird smells. All buttons are original; none loose, missing, chipped, or discolored, and are very well sewn on.

It should be noted that, as indicative of the era, this was likely finished by human hands. You can see how it was pieced together on the inside, and therefore can see the seams, which are all surged and completely in tact.

There is some very light pilling, which is indicated in one of the listing's photos, but it isn't noticeable due to the bold pattern of this piece.

As I mentioned, the fabric content tag is missing, and there is no size either.

Measurements are as follows.

Neck - 15.5

Top shoulder seam to top shoulder seam - 14.5

Wrist opening - 4 1/4"

Chest (armpit to armpit) - 19"

Top shoulder seam to hem - 26"

Width at hem - 21"

The garment care instructions are a bit faded, but indicate it should be washed at a medium temp. It could be dried on a low(ish) setting, but honestly I'd go with the tag suggestion and line dry to maintain the phenomenal integrity of this 50+ year old piece.

Personal Opinion:

For some kind of sizing reference, because buying online can a challenge, especially when dealing with vintage items, as the sizing generally differs from modern measurement charts...

I'm 5'4", a women's small/medium (a schmedium, if you will). 34D, and a size 6. I tried it on and it was a perfect fit all around, including buttoning up without any pulling, gapping, or looking strained. Busty gals, y'all know what I mean.

Although measurements are the best way to go, please allow for a centimeter or two in error, as we're human beings, and to err, is, well, to be human.

But if I had to give my best guess, I'd say this fits like a modern women's small.

Please do carefully inspect all provided images and review the description carefully, as this piece is one of a kind, and what you see is the exact item you'll receive.

•  ABOUT US  •

• We're a small NC based au courant coterie of iconic vintage & retro pieces, and we operate on EST. We package items shortly after listing, so they're ready to head out the door to you, as no one likes having to wait on a package to arrive. 90% of the time, we ship within 24 hours of payment, though sometimes we're able to get it out the door on the same business day.

• Sustainability is extremely important to us. When you choose to buy second hand, you are helping curb the demand for new, which in turn helps combat the over-use of our extremely finite resources from fast fashion and mega companies. This seemingly small choice isn't small at all, as in doing so, you're helping save energy, reducing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, and keeping things out of already overflowing landfills.

In fact, if everyone bought one (just one single thing!) pre-loved item this year rather than new, it would save 5.7 billion pounds of carbon emissions. That's roughly the equivalent of taking half a million cars off the road for an entire year.

So even if you only purchase from us once, we hope you keep shopping second hand whenever you can, because you're helping save the world.

• We also use recycled/recyclable materials as much as possible when we ship. Even our poly mailers are eco-friendly. Although still waterproof and sturdy, they take approximately 2 years to decompose, as opposed to the 1000 years it takes for others to begin to break down.

• Also, when possible, based on the garment composition and care, we do pre-launder our inventory with gentle, eco-friendly detergent sheets. They are cruelty free, vegan, and hypoallergenic, and are completely free from parabens, bleach, dyes, phthalates, and  phosphates. Our laundry sheets of choice are sold in sustainable, compostable packaging from an environmentally conscious, carbon neutral company, who, much like us, are a small business.

We chose them, as they are dedicated to helping us all reduce our carbon footprints.

It's also nice to know that each time someone purchases from them, they donate laundry services to those in need.

They're also members of 1% For The Planet (they donate 1% of their revenue to non-profits in the most impactful ways possible).

• Making informed, better choices truly do carry weight and make an impact. So whether it's choosing to shop small over large, buying second hand over new, or doing business with companies that contribute to the betterment of the world, you're making a choice to be right there with us, fighting for a better tomorrow. After all, we do not inherit the earth from our ancestors. We borrow it from our children.

Thank you so much for your consideration!
