Macmillan and Co, London, 1868

First edition, 1868 (Thirteenth Thousand) Printing A very very early printing, Very Good hardcover with the original red cloth covered boards.

A very very early, Very Good hardcover with the original red cloth covered boards with some slight mottling, and a small line of slight bubbling to the cloth (please see images for details). All Edges in full gilt. The book still has the original dark slate blue end papers, with the binders stamp/seal to the rear end paper “Bound by Burn”. Delicate inscriptions that are virtually hard to see located on the end papers, and one neat inscription on the blank verso of the end paper. The spine was rebacked with the original cloth lay back down so the binding is tight and quite readable. All pages and illustrations are present, and are overall quite clean, with a few very occasional scattered faded handling marks, otherwise no bent pages, no tears, and no writing.

Exceedingly scarce very early copy, in the rare original boards and original end papers. Highly collectible.

Please note the cost to ship reflects the actual cost to ship using USPS, and the cost of insurance at the USPS rate of $1.00 per $100.00 of value. The cost of insurance is reflected as a handling charge on your invoice, but is actually only the cost to fully insure the book.
