Tales to Astonish is one of the core Silver Age Marvel titles and it has proven to be one of the very toughest runs to assemble in high grade. Ant-Man, Hank Pym's debut in issue #27 (January 1961) ranks him as one of the earliest Marvel characters of the Silver Age, predating both the Hulk and Thor and following very closely on the heels of the Fantastic Four. Ant-Man (later Giant-Man) would go on to become a founding member of the Avengers and Pym (in many guises) has remained a fixture on the team to this day. TTA also played host to the bulk of both the Hulk's and Sub-Mariner's Silver Age runs, until both heroes launched into their own self-titled series in 1968.
