Both were a previously owned item but appears to be new. It is still with and inside all of its original packaging. The train is in pristine condition (I did not remove it from the plastic wrap, nor did I take it out of the box to preserve the condition) The box also is in pretty good condition with just a few dents and discoloration from being stored, age, and moving around.
