An “Irotomesode” is made of cloth with any background color other than black, but like the “Kurotomesode”, it also has a single design on the lower half.
It can be both formal and semi-formal, for married and unmarried women, but it has a status difference depending on the number of crests displayed:

 “Itsutsumon(five crests)" when formal and “Mitsumon(three crests)" when semi-formal.
