A limited production model original to Ikebe Musical Instruments Store, completed with the great cooperation of PRS staff! !
A limited edition of the wonderful WoodLibrary based on the IKEBE 45th Anniversary model produced to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the founding of Ikebe Musical Instruments Store, which gained popularity after repeated meetings with staff from various departments at PRS, including Paul Reed Smith.
The body top is made of the finest flame maple, carefully selected from PRSWoodLibrary's vast stock with the finest wood grain, which will overwhelm the viewer. Depending on which side is used as the front or back side and where the body line is set, the appearance of the heather grain upon completion will vary considerably. Selected by our expert staff, we have created a sound that is unique to PRS and has a beauty that continues to fascinate guitarists.
One-piece African mahogany is used for the body back material. The combination of maple top and mahogany back is a traditional spec that has been used in various brands of guitars since G's LP model. Considering the sound aspect, we specified the same size as the McCarty, which has a body back that is approximately 4 mm thicker than a regular custom. By adding thickness to the backing material, we obtain a richer midrange and contribute to a fatter sound.
Pattern: The thin-shaped neck material is made of carefully selected mahogany, just like the body back material.
African blackwood is used for the fingerboard and headstock. It is a wood from the genus Dalbergia, which belongs to the same legume family as rosewood, and is native to Africa such as Tanzania and Mozambique, where it is sometimes called Grenadilla.
The black part used in this guitar is the core wood of the tree, and the sapwood is yellowish-white. It has a small distribution volume and is traded at a very high price. After drying, it is very strong and has a wonderful tone, so it has been used for woodwind instruments such as oboes, flutes, clarinets, and bagpipes for a long time, and it is the material with the tone closest to Brazilian rosewood. It is also used as the side and back material for high-quality handcrafted acoustic guitars.
The inlay, which is one of the characteristics of PRS, is also a special specification unique to WoodLibrary, which is based on the commemorative model.
For the fingerboard inlay, we selected Old School Bord Inaly, which uses Paua shells that were used until 2010.
Models other than the private stock line usually have Paul Reed Smith's signature inlay placed in the headstock, but for this order, we specially received a modern eagle inlay made from the same material. Ta.
Furthermore, in the regular line, we have applied a purfling border decoration to the fingerboard and headstock, which is only used on a few limited edition models such as the 2015 PRS30th Anniversary Model. By using purfling, it has a luxurious finish.
The pickup is equipped with the 85 15, which was first adopted in the PRS30th Anniversary Model and is also used in the current lineup of Custom24, which is highly rated.
This pickup, which has the year numbers 1985, the year of its founding, and 2015, the 30th anniversary, is slightly different from the vintage tone pickups such as 57 08 and 59 09, and was developed with the aim of having a modern classic character. This is a pickup with a rich sound that has a wide range from high to low end and a punchy and moderate amount of power.
We have adopted the latest hardware such as a GenIII tremolo bridge and a PhaseIII locking tuner, and we have been specially given the gold hardware specification, which is impossible to select from the regular line due to cost issues.
Available in four colors: Cerice, Espresso, Laguna, and Tiger Eye.
All of these colors are only used for private stock, but we have specially adopted them. In addition, like the latest model, the top coat after coloring is gloss lacquer, so it features a different texture and raw sound than previous models.
