The Lady & the Unicorn tapestries woven around 1500 represent the five senses against a detailed red background in the millefleurs style (1000 flowers).  The sixth sense translates to My Only Desire and has inspired many theories.  Some have suggested "courtly love" and others "free will". These (2) archival prints of the tapestries, matted and framed, represent "Taste" and "My Only Desire".

The tapestries were commissioned by the Le Vista family of Lyons, whose coat of arms is also represented.  They have stirred the romantic in so many and are considered to be the greatest art in western civilization.  We adore the medieval whimsy!!!!
