Hot Sauce Sriracha Pepper Seeds -Heirloom Spicy

The Sriracha pepper, also known as the "Sriracha Hot Chili Pepper," is a hot chili pepper cultivar of the species Capsicum annuum. Its Latin name is Capsicum annuum 'Sriracha'.

This pepper has not been officially rated on the Scoville scale, but it is estimated to be around 1,000 to 2,500 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), which places it in the mild to medium range of heat.

The Sriracha pepper typically takes around 75-90 days to mature and has a height of around 24-30 inches (60-75 cm). The leaves of the plant are typically green in color and can be either smooth or slightly wrinkled.

The fruit of the Sriracha pepper is small, about 1.5-2 inches (4-5 cm) in length, and is usually a bright red color when fully ripe. The flavor of the Sriracha pepper is described as having a sweet and slightly fruity taste, followed by a moderate heat.

The Sriracha pepper is commonly used in Southeast Asian cuisine, particularly in Thai and Vietnamese dishes. It is the main ingredient in the popular Sriracha sauce, which is a spicy sauce made from chili peppers, vinegar, garlic, sugar, and salt.

The Sriracha pepper is named after the coastal city of Si Racha in Thailand, where it is believed to have originated. The pepper is relatively easy to grow and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation.

Overall, the Sriracha pepper is a popular chili pepper variety that is valued for its mild to medium heat, sweet and fruity flavor, and versatility in cooking.

Start indoors 10-14 weeks prior to last frost. Transplant to 4 inch pots when true leaves appear. Requires hardening. Transplant seedlings 24-36 inches apart in well-draining loamy soil. Water regularly. Harvest peppers with gloves when deep red and wrinkled
