BJFE Honey Bee OD is a newly created pedal designed by BJF himself and further customized.
One Control Honey Bee OD 4K Mini Custom is a newly created and customized version of the legendary BJFE Honey Bee OD, the overdrive pedal that laid the foundation for today's amplifier-like pedals, designed by BJF himself.
The Honey Bee OD 4K Mini Standard reproduces the sound of the original Honey Bee OD, but the Custom is a limited custom version with even higher gain and thicker areas mainly around the low mids.
●Honey Bee OD 4K Mini
It has 4 knobs for more detailed timbre control, and the B and T knobs allow you to control the low and high frequencies individually and accurately.
Furthermore, the mini size allows it to be installed on various pedal boards without taking up space.
Through years of research by BJF himself, it has become possible to reproduce the original tone even with mini-sized SMD parts.
The design method for mini pedals is different from traditional handmade pedals that use through-hole parts. Mini pedals are affected by "coast components" that do not exist as "parts" and do not appear on the circuit, so the sound will be different if they are simply made using the same circuit diagram.
BJF has considered all influences, from part characteristics to ghost components, to recreate the sound of BJFE's original pedals.
Since the sound was completely satisfactory to BJF himself, it was possible to release it in mini size.
The original Honey Bee OD was inspired by the sound of old Supro amplifiers and was released on December 4, 2002.
This overdrive pedal is perfect for electric guitars and guitar amps set to clean to crunch settings, and works best when combined with other effects or distorted amps, creating a thick, warm overdrive character.
In particular, the dynamics can be easily adjusted from clean to overdrive with the touch of your hand, and the overwhelming response is the headroom and frequency response of a small old amp, making it possible to record with a small amp even if it is a large amp. You can get a similar tone.
If you connect it to a clean amplifier, you can enhance the tonal expression with picking and guitar volume. Flat strings give you a mellow tone, and round strings give you an old-style light distortion.
If you push a lightly distorted amp, you'll see a characteristic that distorts the overtones that are typical of combo amps. Even though the actual gain is not set high, it produces a powerful tone that feels like it is strongly distorted. In other words, while maintaining the core and penetrating power of the tone, it simultaneously achieves the power of a drive tone with increased gain.

VINTAGE mode is the sound of the earliest Honey Bee OD. Along with mild, classic overdrive tones, you can create sweet tones with a unique high response.
MODERN mode is the current Honey Bee OD sound. Compared to VINTAGE mode, the gain is slightly increased, and the low-end output is particularly wide due to the variable range of the Nature knob, allowing you to create tones that suit modern scenes.

It also has a MODERN/VINTAGE switch, so you can enjoy the "high gain version of early HBOD" and the "high gain version of modern HBOD."

V (VOLUME): Adjust the overall volume. Try starting the tone adjustment from around the 12 o'clock position.
D (DRIVE): Adjust the strength of distortion. At the 12 o'clock position, you can control the distortion at hand by adjusting the picking strength.
