Habutae Silk Hair Net for Geisha or Kabuki Shiro-Nuri Stage Makeup Application

Description:

This is a traditional Habutae (Habutai) hair net. It is made of purple silk and has straps and ties to fasten it. This type is for ladies and is used by Geisha, Maiko and Kabuki actors as well as Buyo dancers. This one has waxed (Binsuke Abura) straps to reduce slippage and make it easier to put on.

Its main purpose is to get your hair out of the way when applying Shiro-Nuri Makeup and is also worn under wigs to control your real hair.

This is the real thing, exactly as used for generations by traditional stage performers in Japan.
