Vintage Ceremonial Kake-Fukusa.
This type of Fukusa is used for presenting something of value in ceremonies in Japan much like the ‘Ring Pillow’ used in Western weddings. In Japan, this may be used to display sacred objects on a table or counter.
It is made of (probably) rayon or nylon with the Japanese character Kotobuki, for good fortune on one side and is solid orange on the other. It is sewn like an unstuffed cushion and has stiff gold tassel-cords on the corners. It has probably never been used and is in perfect condition.
It measures a: 8½” X 9½" Square (22cm X 24cm)
Weight: 42g
