SCARCE MID-20TH CENTURY, CIRCA 1950'S, VINTAGE SILVERPLATE over BRONZE, SEASHELL CENTERPIECE, with HINGED CONCH TOP & POLISHED, HIGHLY REFLECTIVE IRRIDESCENT CONCH INTERIOR & DRY, MATTER SILVERPLATE EXTERIOR FINISH, featuring UNPOLISHED, ORIGINAL PATINA
[Found in a seaside, finely appointed estate on the South Shore of Massachusetts in the Duxbury, MA area, south of Boston. It appears untouched & with its original, tarnished exterior silverplate finish. The articulated crustaceans & the exterior shell of the top, hinged conch are highly detailed, very fine & intricate. The polished, highly reflective interior of the top hinged conch is fantastic, without blemishes or damage. The back hinge, allowing the conch top to open & close evenly & smoothly is also undamaged. The silverplated bronze form is substantial & heavy. Absolutely fantastic and very scarce.]
(Circa 1950-1958)
