Blade in the picture is made of forged DAMASCUS STEEL, low carbon alloy & high carbon steel forged several times to obtain 132 LAYERS.
Blades is heat treated that enables the knife to acquire 52 to 58 HRC on Rockwell scale that will keep it sharper for a long time.

PRODUCT CARE
Damascus steel knives are more attractive and efficient but also require extra care. There are some tips for you to look after your knife.
•After every use, clean the blade properly and apply WD-40, vegetable oil or Vaseline on the blade to prevent rust.
•Never store your knives for long periods in the leather sheath. Leather can absorb water, which will rust the knife.
•If Damascus gets rusted or darkens with age, it is very easy to clean or brighten it up, sand it lengthwise with a worn piece of sand paper, it will clean the knife from rust and look brighter.
