Stunning vintage citrine solitaire ring, featuring a beautiful, clean gemstone with no colour zoning or visible inclusions in a lovely, pale lemon.  Hallmarked for London and 1987, the maker- MJ- cannot be identified, but they have created an unusual setting. The emerald-cut stone is held in four double prongs which merge into a textured coronet-style setting. The stone measures approximately 12mm x 11mm, the ring  weighs 3.2g and is UK size J or US size 4.75, but it could be re-sized without affecting the hallmarks.

Citrine is the birthstone for November and ranges from almost transparent lemony yellow  like this one, to brownish orange. It has been used in jewellery for thousands of years and is known as “healing quartz,” because legend has it that citrine promotes vitality and energy in whoever wears it. According to the Chinese feng shui philosophy, the gem also creates wealth and abundance!

This would make a much-appreciated gift for a November birthday or for someone who just loves these delightful gems!
