Fabulous flow blue Wedgwood Etruria dinner plate in the September "Months" pattern designed originally as square tiles by noted Victorian England illustrator Helen Miles. This particular plate features a young lady (a kitchen maid perhaps?) in cap and apron gathering apples from a small tree in an enclosed yard. An inquisitive dog sits alertly at her feet, while behind her on the garden wall, small songbirds perch and watch. The lush, floral border is Wedgwood's "Ferrara" design. The flow blue is quite dark and dramatic.

The plate measures 10 1/4 inches in diameter. It has no cracks, chips or nicks that I've been able to discern, but as you can see from the photos above, there is fine crazing (though no discoloration!) throughout.
