The smart red painted metal case made everything look too posh for me to get dirty (!) so I continued to use my old taps and dies that were still lurking in various tobacco tins and my ancient tap and die holders that were still rattling about in my tool box!

Having said that, I have looked inside the case many times and thought just how smart it was and imagined that it would make an ideal gift for somebody who was just getting started in metal working/home engineering etc as the variety of die holders and tap holders would cover just about anything that the amateur home workshop user is ever likely to need.

It would also make a nice gift for a model engineer or mechanic who would like a nice smart metal case to keep all his screw cutting bits and pieces "in the one place".

There are 5 different sizes of die holder and 2 different sizes of tap holders that should cover any size of tap or die that the amateur  workshop user is ever likely to need.

Included an x7 Dies:- M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, M12.  and  x21 Taps:-  M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10, M12. (three of each size).

 

Although this set comes with the most popular M3 - M12 taps and dies it could be used as the base for adding any future types and sizes of taps and dies such as Taper and Plug Taps, Different thread cutting tap and dies such as BSF, BSW, Whitworth, BA etc.

There is plenty of room inside the large red metal case (approximate 390mm x 90mm / 15 1/4" x 7 1/2") to store extra taps and dies  - or it could be kept nice and tidy like it is now and stash any extra taps and dies away elsewhere ( like I do!).

I will carefully pack this set when it is sold and post it via Royal Mail.
