DM-101 Delay Machine is the ultimate analog delay created by combining the latest technology and accumulated know-how. By adopting a full analog circuit, we have achieved a delay sound that feels warm and enveloping. By controlling the circuit with the CPU, 12 types of diverse sounds are produced.

■12 types of analog delay
Analog delay, which appeared in the 1970s, is an effect device that uses an electronic component called a BBD to repeatedly play the input sound like a mountain bell. The delay sound produced by a full analog circuit has the high frequencies suppressed and a slight distortion added to warmly envelop the player. The DM-101 has 12 modes, allowing you to create a wide range of sounds, from classic analog delays to unique rhythmic types.
Of course, by setting INTENSITY above a certain level, it is possible to obtain wild oscillations with the sound character of each mode.
■ Commitment to sound quality
For analog delays, when the delay time is the same, the fewer BBDs used, the more saturated the delay sound will be, and the more BBDs used, the more expansive the high range will be. The DM-101 successfully optimizes the sound quality of the delay sound in each of 12 modes by combining 8 BBDs and precisely tuned peripheral circuits.
It offers a high level of versatility while also delivering a carefully selected analog delay sound.
■Digital control of analog sound
The DM-101 is a delay machine with high-level digital control of a fully analog designed delay circuit. Depending on the mode, the CPU controls the number of BBDs used, their connection method, filter type, clock frequency, and feedback path.
BOSS's iconic warm and saturated VINTAGE mode, and MODERN mode that retains the clarity of the high frequencies, create a variety of sound characters.

Equipped with a total of 12 modes, you can choose from a variety of sounds. The VARIATION knob allows you to control parameters specific to each mode.
CLASSIC: Warm sound typical of analog delays. Delay times up to 1,200 ms can be set.
The VARIATION knob changes the modulation waveform to triangle, sine, or even more complex waveforms.
VINTAGE: A sound reminiscent of BOSS's traditional analog delay pedal DM-2, which was introduced in 1981.

MODERN: A sound with the warmth of an analog delay, but with more definition in the high range. Supports delay times of up to 840 ms.

MULTI-HEAD: This mode allows you to enjoy the analog delay sound produced by BBD in a tape echo-like playback method.
You can switch between 10 different head patterns using the VARIATION knob.
NON-LINEAR: An analog delay in which the volume of the delay sound gradually increases. The delay time of the first delay sound can be set between 35 ms and 190 ms. The VARIATION knob adjusts the interval between subsequent delay sounds.
AMBIENCE: This mode simulates an extremely narrow space. You can add early reflections with the VARIATION knob.
REFLECT: A stereo compatible mode that produces a reverb-like effect.
The VARIATION knob adds pre-delay from 40 ms to 290 ms.
DOUBLING+ DELAY: A stereo analog delay that thickens the sound by adding doubling and reflections using a short delay.
The VARIATION knob adjusts the doubling delay time.
WIDE: A stereo analog delay that provides a spacious sound by shifting the delay time on OUTPUT A/B.
The VARIATION knob adjusts the delay time difference between OUTPUT A/B.
DUAL MOD: A stereo compatible mode that outputs modulation with different phases on OUTPUT A/B.
The VARIATION knob adjusts the modulation phase difference. When set to maximum, OUTPUT A/B will be in reverse phase.
PAN: A stereo analog delay that outputs delay sounds alternately from OUTPUT A/B.
The VARIATION knob adjusts the delay time difference between OUTPUT A/B.
PATTERN: A stereo compatible mode that generates a rhythmic delay sound.
You can enjoy 10 different patterns with the VARIATION knob.

■ Expanding stereo sound possibilities
The DM-101 provides a variety of stereo sounds even though it is an analog delay by switching the BBD connection method from series to parallel and sending different clock signals to each BBD. For example, in PAN mode, different delay times are given to the BBD to create a delay sound that alternates between left and right, while in DUALMOD mode, the phase of the left and right modulation is shifted to create a spacious sound. Of course, it also supports separate output of direct sound and effect sound. It also has a direct mute function, so it can also be used as an external effect for a PA mixer.
■High versatility
Although the DM-101 is an analog delay, it has the versatility required by modern guitarists. The delay time can be instantly set according to the song you are playing using the tap tempo function*1. Tap division can also be switched with a single button, making it easy to create rhythmic delays. It also supports expanded control, allowing the addition of footswitches and expression pedals, as well as control using external MIDI devices. You can call up to 4 sounds using the built-in footswitch, or up to 127 sounds using MIDI control.
