Great find from a selective Aladdin Lamp Collector's treasure trove. This is a very nice & scarce Aladdin Art Craft Venetian Peach Straw Model 1245 Vase Style Lamp, with a Vintage Aladdin Lox-On Chimney.
There have only been a handful of these ever hit eBay for sale & we sold half of them that were owned by the same collector. We only gently dusted off the lamp before photographing. The vase portion of lamp is in very nice condition. There are some flea bites on lower edge (as pictured), but no other major chips or dings. There is what appears to be some production variations in color as is normal and a few paint flecks on inside of upper rim where burner sits (as shown in photo gallery) and some near base. The flecks are hardly noticeable with burner in place. You can review pictures as we shot from all sides, top and bottom edges. We also photo'ed with & without flash as the colors look a little different in different lighting as you can see in pictures. There could be other tiny blemishes or production blips, but they would be minimal as we looked over the item with care. These models are painted inside with the base peach or tan color & then a light straw type finish was applied to the exterior. This lamp has a lighter straw type applique applied than some we have sold, so it is not pronounces of an accent. What looks like dirt or stain near bottom rim is the residual paint from when exterior paint was applied.
The brass font looks good & has the original #12 Burner, but the burner is not working properly. The wick knob is loose & does not move the wick up & down & the burner is stuck in the font & will not unscrew from the base. We tried to remove the burner from the font to replace it, but even with Liquid Wrench & WD 40, it did not budge. We did not want to break the font to get the burner out, so we are selling it, as is. These burners are easy to convert to electric & many people do that. Aladdin even sold electric socket converters years back and those have sold from $10-$30 on eBay in recent years (don't over pay for them) and they can be found elsewhere as well. The font has a center tube that allows a cord to be ran through if needed and the vase lamps are hollow, so you could probably convert as you choose. That said, we are selling and discounting the lamp $50-$75 below our other sales for that reason. We sold another similar lamp for $350 a while back on eBay, but the burner was working. Likewise, if you have a suitable oil font, you can replace the one we included.
There is much more information available from the Aladdin Lamps collector websites on dates of production, models, etc. We are going with much of what the previous owner & collector shared about the description as he knew far more than we do, having owned many hundreds of Aladdin Lamps (and we verified as best we could with the Aladdin Collector's Guide books & info sites). There is no fuel in the lamp font.
As noted, these lamps do not come up on eBay often and are usually only found in specialty auctions, antique shops or boutiques. Please look over all pictures & use zoom if needed. We do our best to describe in detail what we see & are painstaking in our packing. We do not offer returns, but have not been asked for one either based on condition. If an item arrives damaged, all items are fully insured & you can file a claim with USPS or FedEx and we will try to assist if needed. We even photograph our items as we pack them, just in case. In over 1300 delicate item sales we have had only two items sustain damage & both were out of US sales. We have sold approximately around 40 Aladdin lamps, many vase style ones like this and not had an issue with delivery.

The process is not difficult, but the timing of such does not allow adequate time for the item to be returned to us and then for us to proceed with a claim (chain of custody questions can arise as well on returned items due to double shipping and handling so it is just easier for Buyers). So again, as noted in listing, we do not offer returns. Of course, there is free local pick up and we can meet to assist if you are near Indianapolis or driving through. We do this often.
Signature confirmation is required if your item is above $100 unless you request otherwise so please plan accordingly. Items without signature confirmation that are delivered to a location (such as a porch or lobby) but goes missing (lost or stolen) are not covered by carriers even if insured. Also, we have discounts with FedEx & eBay on shipping which do not always show up in eBay estimates on shipping. We try to refund what we can when there is a notable difference, but we do not know until we actually process the shipping order.
