Here we have a varied and interesting group of Scotch whisky advertising items: An advertising cover, a postcard, two self-adhesive labels and a brochure. They are generally in fine condition, especially for the three mint items. The envelope has been trimmed somewhat and the brochure has been folded.

1. A 1936 Haig advertising envelope with a classic slogan meter mark: "Why be Vague? Order Haig." The 1.5d meter mark is from Markinch, Fife and dated 2 XII 36. The window envelope has been trimmed somewhat. The backflap has an embossed By Royal Appointment logo and the text: "John Haig & Co. Ltd. / Distillers / Markinch / Scotland". The backflap is not fastened so can be lifed for display with the front of the envelope.

2. A "You're in malt whisky country, now." colour postcard for the Scotch Whisky Trail. It shows a detail of a copper still. The reverse of the mint card gives quite a bit of detail about the trail, which it describes as "the ultimate Scotch experience." It adds: "Moray Speyside is 'Malt Whisky Country' but it is so much more." and goes on to extoll the area's fine beaches, mountains, culture, hospitality and retail opportunities.

3. A mint Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Club Finest  Scotch Whisky self-adhesive label. The label shows Glamis Castle in Angus, near the club's excellent museum.

4. A small mint "Spirit of Scotland" self-adhesive label "Celebrating 500 Years of Scotch Whisky 1494/1994".

5. A brochure for the Bladnoch Distillery, a wee gem in Wigtownshire, southern Scotland, which is well worth a detour and near the Scottish Book Town of Wigtown. It has lots of interesting detail, a map and much more.

A wide-ranging group in the popular area of whisky ephemera.

At the same time I am listing a group of Scotch whisky postcards.

The postage costs on this item are higher than I would like and, after leaving them unchanged for several years, I have raised them slightly in line with the 2023 postage rates. For lots worth $40 or more I highly recommend the domestic or signed-for tracked service and cannot be responsible for such lots sent by ordinary mail. Postage for British buyers will be $1.60.

As I have some fixed-price items anyone who purchases one of my lots might want to look at them before paying. Additional postage is free for subsequent purchases unless they are too big for my normal very low basic rates. If you are buying more than one item please wait for me to send an invoice so I can combine postage.

When payment for lots won is received by teatime British time (it is usually dished up about 4:30) I normally post the item the next morning. Our village post office is closed on Saturdays, however, so if you pay on Friday the item cannot go out until the following Monday.
