For sale here is a vintage school teaching model of 

PYRITE

Made in the Czech Republic in the 1950's/ 1960's

We have been lucky enough recently to meet a dealer in Prague who clears schools and colleges for a living, so we have been fortunate enough to buy several of these fantastic models from him we have multiples of some models but we want to clarify that these are genuine vintage 1960's teaching aids and not reproductions.

This fantastic molecular model is of pyrite (FeS2O) commonly called Iron pyrite or Fool's gold.

These models were used in schools to help chemistry students visualize chemical structures.

Height: 19cm

Width: 19cm

Depth: 19cm

CONDITION

The molecules are made from bakelite and the bonds are metal.

Obviously this item is not new so there is some light cosmetic wear (worn paint) on the molecules a little oxidation on the metal, I have tried to photograph examples of any obvious wear so please do check all photos carefully.

These models are fixed and do not come apart.
