About the Artist:
"Britain's best known silhouette artist".
Starting in a room
at the back of a house in Babbacombe, Enid Elliott Linder, an artist
with a great talent for painting silhouettes, was launched onto the
UK market in 1972. Within a space of a few months the artist, her
husband and 4 helpers were producing 500 pictures a week, the demand
was so great that they moved to larger premises on the Teignmouth
Road.
By 1980 it was
estimated that they had sold between 150,000 and 200,000 pictures all
around the world.
They were all
produced at the Teignmouth Road premises, and all checked and signed
in pencil by the artist.
