I acquired this exceedingly rare, superior quality flag approximately two decades ago (ca. 2003-2004) while working at a university when a fellow staff member came across a large sealed box of unusually beautiful <mostly African> flags that was—due to our college not pursuing a linguistics department—slated to be unceremoniously tossed into a dumpster (!)

Held within one of my temperature-controlled storage spaces, this “100% Cotton Bunting (aka. “flag and/or other colorful festive decoration”) is moth-proof, spans a mighty 3’ x 5’ (36” x 60”), and was produced during the 1980’s having been sewn in the United States by the preeminent flag manufacturer in the world, Annin.

This Togolese Republic (“TOGO”) flag was from Annin’s premiere “DEFIANCE” brand, where the company went to great lengths to provide PERFECT COTTON flags and buntings for countries around the globe: this flag—with its five alternating horizontal green and yellow/gold stripes, and a red canton in the upper left corner with a white, five-pointed star in the middle of the canton—has represented the Togolese Republic from 1960-present.

In selling this flag, I mean absolutely no disrespect to potential customers/browsers by putting up images. It is important to note that I HAVE NOT LET THIS FLAG TOUCH THE GROUND—all photos of this beautiful, decades-old artifact were taken on a sturdy table.
