This is an excellent, mint condition, new open box, rare Vintage BARI Hawk II 7* (.105) Tenor Sax Mouthpiece with its original "Enhancer" resonator ring.  This mouthpiece was one of several purchased.  Upon purchase the box was opened and the mouthpiece was tested.  The mouthpiece was washed, and stored away in its original box.  It is in like-new condition.

These USA made, specialized mouthpieces are 24k gold plated brass with a unique chamber and a unique sloping/ramping inner side rail design unlike other mouthpieces.  They were made for a very short period and not many of these Hawk II with the "enhancer" were made.  They play incredibly easy and with a large, full and clear sound.

This one is from the early, original batch of these very limited mouthpieces.  Shortly after these were made, BARI also made a later batch of these Hawk II mouthpieces with the "enhancer", but that later batch has a completely different chamber design and the sound and response of those later ones is nowhere near as good as these limited early ones.

From BARI: "Contoured chambers provide a husky, warm tone.  Includes removable "Enhancer", a mini echo-chamber that provides focus and intensity to the sound"
"The Hawk II offering is the first innovation for saxophone mouthpieces since the introduction of "wedge" or "high baffle".  Our radically new chambers are contoured for maximum projection, making this high-end Jazz mouthpiece husky, warm and very friendly"

These mouthpieces were expertly built and offer incredible response and a very large dynamic range with a wide, flexible tonal palette.  They are easy to play both very loud, and very soft.  They are very powerful like a Dukoff D, with lots of volume, but are much better built and easier to control at all volumes.  They have a very clear and balanced sound that is very tonally expressive and versatile.

The unique, finely crafted "enhancer" echo-chamber resonator ring only fits this mouthpiece.  The heavy, weighted "Enhancer" adds certain harmonics that improve the sound of the mouthpiece.  This mouthpiece already sounds and responds great without the resonator ring.  However, using it with the the "enhancer" installed indeed improves both the sound and response of the already great mouthpiece.  In addition, rotating the "enhancer", as well as moving it back and forth to different positions on the mouthpiece shank provides very small, but audible change to the effect the "enhancer" has on the sound.

The BARI Hawk II is a unique and rare piece, while being a great sounding, excellent performer.

It will be carefully packaged and insured for full value.
