This is a festive vintage handmade Afghan tribal and geometric accent rug in nearly perfect condition with two minor areas of distress. This rug is high quality, hand-knotted with soft lambswool that makes for a soft pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations.  The overall pattern is a repeating tribal motif known as a "gul" which often represents natural elements such as lakes or mountains. This motif and its rustic burnt orange color resembles shining suns on a  camel backdrop, alternating with black versions of the same motif.  The rug is bordered by a camel frame with repeating motifs in a larger diamond design in crimson and black. This frame is bordered by navy blue thin rows with a small diamond repeat in crimson and camel. Colors are made from only natural dyes.
