This Original handwoven condition center piece vintage rug is a genuine Afghan tribal handmade Baluch ethnic design hand knotted natural woolen rug. The material used in making this rug is 100% natural sheep wool and sometimes mixed with silk, which is not only durable, but also free from all allergies. This is an original rug made by Afghan craftsmen and craftswomen who have been making such rugs since centuries. There is a clear photo from the back of the carpet for identification of hand knot rugs. Each of these rugs take months to finish, each strand of wool and silk is hand knotted individually one by one, having the deigns memorized by the artist or using very old design blueprint, which only they can understand. Each knot has to be placed in a perfection position to make the design clear, but minor human errors are still unavoidable, which gives these rugs the soul of human touch.
This is a higher quality Baluch rug, with finer knots per square inch and low pile. Low pile and finer knots per square inch gives a sharper design, but requires a lot more labor and skills.
Condition: The condition of the carpet is clearly displayed in the photo gallery.
