This item and used and shows some signs of wear but it is fully functional. It should be calibrated before first use as it has been many years since it was last calibrated. I sent to it Spectra recently to be examined and they told me that was the only thing needed. I opted not to do the calibration at that time since I did not know when I would use it next and figure it would have to be calibrated again by that time. 
The handle does have a hairline crack in the plastic that can be seen in the photo on the side that says "spectra". It is purely cosmetic.

The economical, compact CineSpot 1° Spotmeter from Spectra Cine has been designed for easy use and for making simple yet accurate screen brightness measurements and other field measurements. The CineSpot features eye-level, magnified, thru-the-lens viewing of the 1° spot area in a large (21° diagonal) rectangular viewing field, with simultaneous display of the meter reading superimposed in the viewing field.
