I have 1 the same  with a slightly a smaller ribbed body  as seen in pictures ....B...

These can be made up to 20mm shorter or longer by pushing the ends in or pulling them out more

The item is pre 1920 its rail is brass sheet wrapped round steel which has not been done since then and whilst there is some cracking it's not seen when fitted.

1 Vintage/antique/old  French cast Brass Curtain or tapestry pole in a premium Quality that are clean but not polished

The ends slide off and 1 side can be taken off for fitting rings or tapestry loops

These are from large establishments in France

Majestic and large for a stunning look that's not off the shelf and not what half the nation has from B and Q...etc

Very bespoke unique and from around the 1900s ish and restored in their time so are ready to fit

I will send 4 brass slotted screws 50mm round head so you can fit them
