This is a glued European walnut board or plate. The walnut, which is a noble hardwood, is known for its historical use for high-quality furniture and objects in the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The color is light to dark brown, mouse gray, often veined and with a more or less pronounced strong sapwood area. The annual rings are usually contrasting in color, creating a striking floral or stripy texture that is enlivened by black stripes of color
! The board/wood is dry, both sides planed and pre-sanded, trimmed parallel, glued from many individual pieces, finger-jointed connections, ends are only rough cut --> not yet finished straight cut, wild, lively quality with some striking and typical wood features (wild growth , small branches...) rustic goods = There may be 1-2 small, fine cracks/cracks on each side - but these can easily be closed with a little putty!
