Key Silver Age Classic by Adventure Comics #269, 10 Cents, 1960.  Highest valued comic from 1960 Adventure Comics. This comic features the first appearance and origin of Aqualad (Story by Robert Bernstein and Art by Roman Fredon).  Has Krypto story "Superdog's Mean Master".

Key Age Comic from, getting harder to find in higher grades.  A quick glance at the cover & it looks like a VF/NM 9.0, but it has some minor wear with a close look. Cover colors & images are sharp & maintains pretty good luster. Corners & edges are pretty nice as well. Comic has no major defects, no tears, pencil or pen marks, no staining or moisture marks.  It is firmly attached & staples are solid. There is a slight spine roll & some wear on lower spine edge.  Interior of cover has moderate darkening as shown in pictures and video. The pages are really nice as well but a bit O/W.  Colors & print is sharp.  Video may give you the best look. We photographed as best we could, but did so under fluorescent lighting, which sometimes is not the best.

We would grade this a VF 8.0 for an overall grade.  There are so few examples of these coming up on eBay in higher grades, we did our best on pricing.
A 9.0 CGC Grade sold for $3,050 in 2020 on eBay, an CGC 8.5 for $1,394 in 2018 & an CGC 8.0 for $1,036 in 2018, but little else has shown up, even going back decades.  The 8.0 noted above at $1,036 had color breaks at spine and other wear ours does not, but maybe it had brighter pages or other. Anyway, this is why we encourage buyers to decide for themselves on grades and value.  Se other below.

When offering an opinion on a comic's grade or condition, we try to utilize the more accepted and common grading standards used by professional grading services with a somewhat conservative lean.  In addition, we try to detail the overall condition of a comic, including interior pages along with the cover.  Likewise, we try to show multiple interior page photos and video to further assist you in determining what you feel a comic's condition and value may be.  Finally, we always suggest that buyers use their own opinions on grading and value and not our own.  While we have never had a legitimate complaint on our descriptions of comics or other collectibles, antiques and other items we sell, we are not perfect.

Please look over all the pictures & video (if available) taken for your consideration and use the zoom feature if needed.  They are to allow you to determine what you feel a book's condition & value may be.

We try to start our auction (or priced) listings below reasonable market value based on our observations & sales information (price guides & online sales) available, but we know all people are free to judge as they feel is correct.  Note also, occasionally comics may be selling higher or lower than guide values due to market changes, death of artists, film releases or other factors.  All value is ultimately determined by what buyers are willing to pay, based on their opinions.

95% of our Comics are sold as part of a private collection amassed by a consignor covering 40 years of 1940's-1980's comics. Over 1,000 #1's or 1st Issues coming as time goes by.  Collector focused on #1's. This is a consignor & not our own collection.  Many from his collection have been bagged and put away for over 30 years.  We have already sold over 300 #1's including the X-Men #1 (1963), Iron Man #1, Aqua Man #1, Archie #1, Peanuts #1, Mickey Mouse #1, Captain America #1, lots of 1950's TV Genre #1's and dozens more #1 Super Heroes, rare War Comics, Disney, Sci-Fi, Horror, Super Scarce Goldies, and other.  We will keep listing as time allows.
