Rare Vintage 1987 Motorized Entertech LJN Baretta Water Gun

In the video you can hear the motor running, but when I pull the trigger the water doesn't squirt out.

Although I know the term "rare" is overused, this really is a rare 1987 motorized Entertech LJN Toys Baretta water gun. What makes it rare is the realistic color of this item. This was a short-lived company (1985-1990) and later in 1987, because of serious incidents involving these water pistols (read Wikipedia below), Entertech began using the blaze orange caps on the end and started manufacturing them in the neon colors, so that they didn't look so realistic. You'll see a lot of the neon ones on Ebay.

You can read about this on Wikipedia if you search Entertech. Here is an excerpt from the article.

From Wikipedia: The end of Entertech's short-lived success was due in part to incidents in which law enforcement officers shot and killed children toting toy guns, claiming to have mistaken them for actual firearms. Toy guns were used in robberies of retail establishments and banks. Amid these highly publicized incidents, Entertech voluntarily began manufacturing guns with blaze orange-colored caps in 1987, and began a line of less-realistic neon-colored guns later that year.

After reading the Wikipedia article, I would suggest NOT using this in public and certainly not letting children play with it.

The gun takes two AA batteries (not included). The battery and water compartments are super clean, as seen in the photos. There are a few minor marks on the gun, mostly on the grips, but overall this is in very good overall condition.

Pistol is grey with brown grips and a red tip. On the grips it says "P. Baretta".

You may be able to fix this to get it working properly, but I wouldn't know how to go about doing that myself, so I'm selling it "as is" for this reason.
