Here are four small wooden boxes, to be sold as one lot. The individual items are as follows:
Box One: An attractive little vintage small wooden money box, perhaps created in the 1930's to 1950's. It has a lovely painted image on the lid of a teddy bear diving into a pool, with some flowers alongside.This little box is in quite good vintage conditon, with just a little light wear to the hand painted image on the lid. There is a lock but no key. The hinges are sound and strong.The condition of the box is good, with just a few visible signs of wear to the corners and edges. The item measures 3.25 inches (8.5 cm ) inches across by 2.6 inches (7 cm) deep. Very useful, this item would make a lovely, useful and characterful gift for a child, or to add to a collection of moneyboxes.
Item Two: A small pale golden coloured varnished wooden box in Mauchline Ware style, the lid having a black and white transfer print of Carnarvon Castle, bordered by a printed and colured poppy and dog rose with foliage. The box is plain on all sides and the interior unfitted. This box measures about 4.2 inches (10.5 cm) in length, about 2.9 inches (7.5 cm) in width and about 1.9 inches (4.9 cm) in height. The condition is reasonable and fully useable with a press clip fastening
Item Three: A longer Sheesham wood type box, chip carved on all sides and the lid with inticately detailed star like motifs, one contained within a circle on the lid. The interior is unfitted. There are ink stains on the rear. The item measures about 5.2 inches (13 cm) in length, about 2,4 inches (6.2 cm) in width, and about 1.75 inches (4.8 cm) in height.
Item Four: A longer plain wooden box which appears to be made from dark oak or mahogany. This seems to be for some type of tool fitting, something slender such as fine drill bits, perhaps. There is the wording "Pryor (I think) Sheffield" on the lid and a small logo. The lid exterior shows signs of pitting. A good well made box if someone is able to find a use for it. It has a hook and bracket festening. Size about 4.6 inches (11.5 cm) in length, about 1.9 inches (4.9 cm) in width and about 1.5 inches (3.1 cm) in height.
