I have here for sale 2 EARLY EDITIONS of A DICTIONARY OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE: IN WHICH THE WORDS ARE DEDUCED FROM THEIR ORIGINALS EXPLAINED IN THEIR DIFFERENT MEANIS, AND AUTHORIZED BY THE NAMS OF THE WRITERS IN WHOSE WORKS THEY ARE FOUND. Abstracted from the FOLIO EDITION by the author SAMUEL JOHNSON. TO WHICH IS PREFIXED A GRAMMAR OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. Layout in 2 columns. In Two Volumes - a nice set! 

VOLUME I being the second edition, published in 1760 by KNAPTON, HITCH, HAWES et al. 

VOLUME II being the third edition, published in 1766 by MILLER STRAHAN, RIVINGTON et al. 

Rebound in half calf leather over marbled boards. 5 raised bands. Matching made endpapers. Boards are firm. Toned pages, staining to the first few pages of volume I. Inked name and stains on title page of Vol II and inked scribbles to last page. Some corners are creased. These books are in good condition, tightly bound with no loose or missing pages. 22cm x 14cm.

Postage and packing : I know that you will be looking forward to receiving your order, each book is carefully wrapped in packing paper ( I have changed from bubble wrap to try and reduce my use of plastic) and posted in a Jiffy bag if size permitting, if not it is double wrapped in corrugated cardboard, brown paper and then securely taped. 

To keep the cost of the postage down to the most economical level per book, you may consider buying more than 1 item from my eBay account. You can then request a combined postage cost and I will combine the items into the fewest parcels as possible - saving you money :)
