Il marchio giapponese DUO è stato fondato come distributore di attrezzatura da pesca nell'anno 1995 quando il presidente Hisahiro Matsushita è diventato indipendente e ha fondato la propria azienda. Il business delle esche degli anni '90 è stato fortemente influenzato dalla recessione giapponese. Tuttavia, non ha mai compromesso i suoi principi e non ha rinunciato al concetto iniziale di realizzare prodotti di altissima qualità. -Aderendo a questo principio, anche in un momento in cui la maggior parte delle aziende passava alle fabbriche estere per un costo del lavoro più basso, non abbandonava la produzione in Giappone per la produzione inferiore nel mercato estero.Due anni dopo il lancio dell'azienda, sono state avviate le vendite che ruotano attorno ai prodotti creati dalle mani di Mr. Masahiro Adachi, uno dei giovani designer più acclamati del paese.
Giunto alla sua terza decade, è ampiamente considerato uno dei migliori marchi del settore in Giappone, un paese ampiamente considerato come l'apice della produzione di esche.
Capo progettista di DUO e attuale CEO, Masahiro Adachi è noto per essere fedele all'altezza delle prestazioni di base e ha anche una reputazione mondiale per la produzione di magnifiche esche in cui la semplice bellezza è combinata con prestazioni eccezionali.

Realis Pencil
Realis Pencil 110 sets a standard for all walking baits. The reinforced, thin wall construction aids the creating more internal volume to the body cavity. The consequence is excellent durability, high buoyancy and a further acoustic range. At first glance, the Pencil looks round and linear like other walking baits but closer examination reveals the body shape is oval with flat areas giving it superior aero dynamics for its size.
The intelligently designed ballast system not only gives the lure superior casting range, it provides additional services. It has a dual weight configuration. One weight is fixed and the other is positioned to move on a track. This gives the lure a superior tacking action. “Tacking” is the side to sidetracking cadence also known as “walking the dog”. The impact of the weights also creates an amplified dual tone. This high pitch can be heard from extreme distances giving the lure more calling power.
The innovative Pencil 110 provides an angler with the ability to reach his target in a single cast, immediately initiate walking-action, and “call” the fish from greater distances.

CASTING PERFORMANCE
The design of the body form and positioning of the tail hook-eye, reduces the air resistance allowing a stable flight posture. This results in greater casting distance without being affected by wind or casting styles.

With its swing design, it stages a brisk and compact “dog-walking” action.
SPLASH & DIVING ACTION
By retrieving the line slag stronger than usual when the lure reaches the highest point during the “dog-walking”, the lure splashes the water forward while diving.
TWO KNOCK RATTLE SYSTEM
By the moving weight hitting the secured hard spherical weight in the tail section, it creates a high pitch clicking sound. This appeals to the bass in various water qualities from muddy to clear.
