150w Underfloor Heating World can be used as a secondary or primary heat source in common areas of your home. If more than 80% of the available floor area is covered, with XPS or Cement Coated Tile Backer insulation also installed, the 150w & 200w mats can be used as a primary heat source.
Easy to install, the 150w mats are simply rolled out making them ideal for regularly shaped areas, like Living Areas, Kitchens, Bedrooms & Hallways. Underfloor Heating World heating mats can be easily manipulated around objects, as the heating cable can be pulled off of the mesh backing to be laid free-hand in some areas.
The 150w mats measure 0.5m in width and the largest run available on a single mat is 32m in length (16 sqm). If looking to have a quicker response and more efficient system, it is also recommended that an insulation layer is installed directly under the heating system. This is especially relevant on a concrete subfloor when looking to use the heating as a primary heat source, as the concrete floor will absorb the heat and will take far longer to heat the room, costing more to run the heating.
As a rule of thumb, we would recommend heating between 70 and 90% of your total floor area, if looking to use the heating as a primary heat source.
When fitting underfloor heating, suitable insulation should always be used, especially over concrete subfloors as they absorb heat generated from the heat mat. With insulation installed, the heat effectively bounces the heat instantly straight up through the floor into your room. The insulation will not only increase the response rate but also help maintain a highly efficient underfloor heating system.
