200w Underfloor Heating World Mat Kits are designed to be used as a secondary or primary heat source in any room. It is not just suitable for a tiled floor but can also be installed under LVT, Karndean and Parquet when embedded in a 10-12mm depth of self-levelling compound.
If more than 80% of the available floor area is covered, the 200w mats can be used as a primary heat source (when insulation is installed). The 200w mats are easy to install, as they are simply rolled out, making them ideal for regularly shaped areas. Suitable rooms include Kitchens, Hallways, Conservatories, and high heat loss areas.
The mats measure 0.5m in width, with the largest run available on a single mat is 24m in length. It is also recommended that an insulation layer is installed under the heating system. This is especially relevant on a concrete subfloor because the concrete floor will absorb the heat. As a rule of thumb, we would recommend heating between 70 and 90% of your total floor area for maintaining a primary heat source.
When fitting the 200w underfloor heating mat, suitable insulation should always be used if possible. The installation of insulation is very important, especially if fitting the heating over concrete subfloors. Unlike well-insulated wooden subfloors, concrete floors will absorb the heat from the mats. The insulation will not only increase the response rate but also help maintain a highly efficient underfloor heating system.
