Rare original vintage 1953 silkscreen poster for BWIA (British West Indian Airlines "the airline of the Caribbean") advertising Jamaica. Bright and colorful image of a man holding sugar cane, with bananas next to him and a plane flying overhead. Artwork by the Italian artist Aldo Cosomati (1897-1977). BWIA - or Bee Wee as it was known - was the national airline based in Trinidad and Tobago from 1939 until 2006 when it became Caribbean Airlines.


In Excellent overall condition. Remains bold and bright. Sharp corners. Small splice to top left corner, 3” horizontal surface hairline at center, gentle edge wear and surface scuffs only visible at angles under light and not visible until a much closer inspection of the print is done. Very well preserved. Displays tremendously. Ready for framing.


Measures 29 1/2” x 19 3/4”.
