I would have called this a fortune teller's shawl when I was younger. In the 70's shawls like this added mood to boho decor and they would adorn table tops and hang over lampshades. It is gorgeous for those things but also to wear. Ukrainian piano shawl is what I think it is called. Black shawl with ornate deep pink roses and detailed paisley accents. 2" fringe all the way around. 

Measures 48" X 48". It is unworn and in amazing condition.
