Festool Systainer: Panel for Senco AC4505 compressor - Set of parts # A1, A2, B

This part will save you hours of headache, 1 to 2 weeks at least of fiddling around.

It allows you to FINALLY be able to use your favourite air tools on site. It is SO LIGHT and SO QUIET. You'll be able to talk to clients and listen to the radio while working without annoying neighbours or need for ear muffs or ear plugs. It's a game changer.

  • Designed to fit the SENCO AC4504, re-using all existing parts.
  • Designed to fit the Makita Makpac Systainer 4 (395mm x 295mm x 315mm) -- But with some modification will work with the equivalent Festool Systainer SYS 4 which is the same size.
  • The existing pressure switch from the Senco mounts on to the panel, via a 20-22mm hole (that you must make).

The part is generously sized not to restrict hand movement as you rotate the knob. -- If you really wanted there's room for 1 or 2 dials or nitto fittings. There is enough clearance to not interfere with the vibration etc of the compressor.

The material is RAW FORGED CARBON, with strategically placed UNI-DIRECTIONAL CARBON reinforcement inside. It is premium aerospace-grade carbon fiber made by hand using a resin infusion VARTM process (vacuum assisted resin transfer moulding).

Overall thickness is ~1mm (to aerospace and motorsport standards), stronger and lighter than the original Systainer material.

The raw carbon is a design choice, with job site use in mind. When it is inevitably chipped or pierced the part maintains structural integrity and after years of abrasion will still look nice. In the event a flake of carbon is chipped it can be repaired with a dab of epoxy or superglue.

The part comes UNFINISHED. If you want a gloss or high gloss finish, you can fine sand it on your own to 1200 grit and spray clear automotive acrylic, sanding between coats. The more coats the deeper the shine. This will take a couple of hours over a couple of days.

For this to work, ENSURE you have a SENCO AC4504.

Mounting the panel requires cutting out a section of the systainer (hand saw, oscillating tool, angle grinder), a wood file, up to 360g sandpaper, and epoxy glue. It is possible to used double-sided tape, but your milelage may vary. If it's going to see heavy site use, you'd better screw it down. I suggest 316 stainless pan-head wood screws with strips of birch plywood as backing.
