This volume opens with an Introduction written by her niece, Martha Dickinson Bianchi.  The book measures 9 1/2 by 6 1/4 inches.  The hardcover binding is covered with blue cloth.  The front cover has decorative gilt columns plus the title and publisher are printed in gilt on the spine.  A glossy illustration of Ms. Dickinson is the central focus on the front cover.  The end papers of the book are robin's egg blue and there is a blue silk ribbon sewn in for marking your place.  All the pages are edged in blue as well.  There are 5 sections:  Life, Nature, Love, Time and Eternity, and The Single Hound.  Finally, there is an Index of first lines.
