 Rare Item- Maker marked Allan Adler Sterling. 
All Sterling Silver - 19.5 grams total weight (approx.)
5 1/2" long. Curved handle. Bowl is 1" at widest point.
This is new old stock.  Never used.
I am helping some friends (retired jewelers from Los Angeles) sell some of their old stock.  
They worked with Allan Alder on special projects for many years.

Who was Allan Adler?

Allan Adler was a silversmith, who through decades of work eventually became known as the “silversmith to the stars.” He also briefly made radar equipment for the US during World War II. Many of Adler’s clients were celebrities, Frank Sinatra, Errol Flynn were early clients of his. His career stretched long enough that people like Tom Hanks and Michael Jackson were also clients by the end of his life. 

Allan Adler also worked with several notable political figures. He made a silver coffee urn to be used as a fund-raiser for presidential-hopeful, John F. Kennedy. He also made silver pieces for Winston Churchill and Pat Brown, the 32nd Governor of California. His pieces have been featured in the “Living Treasures of California'' exhibition at the famed Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento. He was married to Becca Blanchard, the daughter of famed silversmith Porter Blanchard. 

What kind of art did Allan Adler make?

Allan Adler was a silversmith. His flatware patterns and hollowware were famed for their smooth, clean shapes and refined lines. He also made jewelry. While initially starting out as a lathing contractor and silversmith, by the end of the 1930s, Adler had moved into the wholesale silversmith business. His company made the crown for the Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants, as well as many candlesticks and goblets for celebrity clients in the 1940s.
