The Hamsterley Lakeside opened in 1925 and featured a dance pavilion that could accommodate up to 150 couples, with music provide by a 5 piece orchestra, The Hamsterley Serenaders. Also part of the resort was the Toby Jug Tea Room, famous for its English Countryside Teas.
