THIS IS AN EILEEN SOPER DRAWN PRINT THAT WAS PART OF THE ENID BLYTON NATURE PLATE SERIES. UNDATED BUT APPARENTLY LATE 1940'S TO EARLY 1950'S.

THERE WAS A LARGE TEAR TO THE UPPER MARGIN THAT CURRENTLY HAS A PIECE OF ACID FREE TISSUE TAPE ON REAR KEEPING IT TOGETHER. ADDITIONALLY, THIS HAS THUMB TACK HOLES AND SHORT TEARS IN THE MARGINS ALONG WITH HANDLING CREASES AND LIGHT VISIBLE SPOTTING IN THE LOWER MARGIN. MEASURES 17" X 21".

The last photo is not included in the auction. Most of the prints in the Enid Blyton Nature Plates are signed by Eileen Soper but this one is not. The last photo is of the list of prints in the binder that credits Eileen Soper as the artist in all of them.

MANY OF THE PLATES WERE NOT THAT ENTERTAINING SO THEY NEVER GOT HUNG UP IN A CLASSROOM. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE AND IT IS AN EXTREMELY HARD PRINT TO FIND.  WHEN YOU FIND A PORTFOLIO OF THE NATURE PLATES, THIS ONE IS INEVITABLY MISSING.

If you wanted to frame this, a good paper restorer could have this matted and looking fabulous. This was number 5 in a series of 60.
