Stechert’s Orientalia Catalogue, Part Two, Catalogue No. 126, from G. E. Stechert & Company of New York. Softcover, dark green wraps, black lettering, stapled. No date. 69 numbered pages. Features over 2000 listings of books and related resources about “Africa, Australasia, Far East in General, Japan, China and Indo-China, Russia, Turkey and the Byzantine Empire.”

          Scarce.

At the time of this printing, the name of Alfred Hafner was not yet attached to the company’s name or title, though his name does appear on the front of this catalogue. That probably dates it as 1940’s or before—and the low prices of the listed items, too, are a major clue that this piece is antiquarian on its own.

Condition: “good” or a bit better. Original staples in place and everything intact; some external wear and fading, but not bad. Some small check marks etc. from a previous owner, probably indicating what they owned or wanted.

This belongs in the right collection or archive.
