Coppia di sculture in marmo effetto bronzo raffigurante i Bronzi di Riace H 140cm
Altezza 140 cm, Larghezza 40 cm, Profondità 40 cm. Realizzata in Marmo. Finitura Lucida Effetto Bronzo.

Realizzata a mano in Italia. Lievi variazioni sono da attribuire alla lavorazione artistica e all’impiego del materiale naturale.


La fusione a cera persa è una tecnica scultorea diffusa già nel III millennio a.C., che nei secoli ha conosciuto una notevole fioritura, soprattutto nella scultura greca e romana.


Le due statue rinvenute il 16 agosto 1972 nei pressi di Riace Marina, in provincia di Reggio Calabria sono considerate tra i capolavori scultorei più significativi dell' arte  greca, e tra le testimonianze dirette dei grandi maestri scultori dell'età classica. Le ipotesi sulla provenienza e sugli autori delle statue sono diverse, ma non esistono ancora elementi che permettano di attribuire con certezza le opere ad uno specifico scultore.

I Bronzi si trovano al Museo nazionale della Magna Grecia luogo in cui sono stati riportati il dicembre 2013, dopo la rimozione e il soggiorno per tre anni (con annessi lavori di restauro) presso Palazzo Campanella, sede del consiglio regionale della Calabria a causa dei lavori di ristrutturazione dello stesso museo. I Bronzi di Riace sono diventati uno dei simboli del paesino stesso e della città di Reggio Calabria.

The Riace Bronzes are two bronze statues of Greek origin datable to respectively at 460 and 430 BC received in exceptional state of conservation. The two statues found on August 16, 1972 near Riace Marina, in the province of Reggio Calabria are considered among the most significant sculptural masterpieces of Greek art, and among the direct testimonies of the great sculptors of the classical age. The hypotheses on the origin and on the authors of the statues are different, but there are still no elements that allow to attribute with certainty the works to a specific sculptor. 
The Bronzes are located at the National Museum of Magna Grecia, the place where they were reported on December 2013, after the removal and stay for three years (with attached restoration works) at Palazzo Campanella, headquarters of the Regional Council of Calabria due to the works renovation of the same museum. The Riace Bronzes have become one of the symbols of the village itself and the city of Reggio Calabria.
