Signed by Alexander top of title page. First edition.  The author is a descendant of an Olympic Peninsula pioneer family. Fascinating history of this popular resort within the Olympic National Park.  At one time Port Crescent was a logging town, and the lake eventually bore it's name.  In 1891 the first road was built to the lake and after that a thriving resort industry grew up there with many early resorts (Lakeview, Log Cabin Hotel, Log Cabin Auto Camp, Hotel Crescent, Log Cabin Resort, Marymere Hotel, Fairholme and others) up to the present day Lake Crescent Lodge, which was built in 1915.  Profusely illustrated with fascinating vintage photographs of the area and the old establishments. Signed on the back page next to the author's photograph. Scarce signed, with fascinating photographs and history of this much-loved area of Washington State.
