1897 Letterhead Billhead O.F. Day, Son Saddlery Baltimore - Ephraim Baker*           

On colored laid paper. Showing only minor signs of age and handling. Expected fold creases from posting. Two holes near top edge. Slight top edge creasing. No fastening staple / pin holes. Eye-catching red star company header w/ simple type faces / fonts. Clean edges and surface. In very good condition. You will receive the exact example as seen in the photos. It measures approx. 5 1/2" x 8 3/8"

*Ephraim Baker (1836-1919) operated a general store in Mount Olive, Shenandoah County, Virginia for most of his adult life. This is part of a collection of Checks, billheads and letterheads mostly from purchases from wholesale merchants for inventory for Baker's store. His store was used at one point as a hospital during the Civil War. He also served as Mt. Olive Postmaster from 1874 to 1889 and 1895 1898. Baker is buried in the Saint Stephens Cemetery, Strasburg, VA
