I have here for sale a book entitled EXCAVATIONS AT UR A RECORD OF TWELVE YEARS WORK by SIR LEONARD WOOLLEY.  This first edition was published in 1954 by ERNEST BENN, London. With 32 plates through the book and illustrations within the text.

Excavation at Ur

Woolley led a joint expedition of the British Museum and the University of Pennsylvania to Ur, beginning in 1922, which included his wife, the British archaeologist Katharine Woolley. There, they made important discoveries, including the Copper Bull and the Bull-Headed Lyre.[11][12] in the course of excavating the royal cemetery and the pair of Ram in a Thicket figurines. Agatha Christie's novel, Murder in Mesopotamia, was inspired by the discovery of the royal tombs. Agatha Christie later married Woolley's young assistant, Max Mallowan.

Bound in red linen boards. Gilt title lettering on the spine. It has its' original dust jacket, this is rubbed on the folds, edges, tears near the spine and fold corners - sellotape on has been applied, price cut away. The book - foxing on the endpapers, fore-edges, and light scattered foxing through the pages. This book is in good condition, pages are tightly bound with no loose or missing pages 262pp, 23cm x 15cm 

Postage and packing : I know that you will be looking forward to receiving your order, each book is carefully wrapped in packing paper ( I have changed from bubble wrap to try and reduce my use of plastic) and posted in a Jiffy bag if size permitting, if not it is double wrapped in corrugated cardboard, brown paper and then securely taped. 

To keep the cost of the postage down to the most economical level per book, you may consider buying more than 1 item from my eBay account. You can then request a combined postage cost and I will combine the items into the fewest parcels as possible - saving you money :)
