Marconi Rosso/Red Sweet Pepper Giant Marconi An Italian Heirloom Huge Fruit

The Marconi Rosso pepper, a traditional Italian variety, is a type of Marconi pepper with bright red, tapering fruits. The fruit grows to be around 6-10 inches long, with thin skin and little chambers, and are sweetest when red. The plant is sturdy and compact, growing upright on a solid bush type habit that can reach as tall as 45-61cm (18-24") in height. Additional support may be needed for prolific producers like the Red Marconi.

The Marconi Rosso pepper is very fertile and produces heavy yields of huge, crisp, sweet red 3-lobed fruits. It takes about 70-90 days to harvest, and the best time to harvest them is in the transition stage to ripeness. This results in crispy and aromatic pods with an extraordinary flavor.

In the kitchen, the Marconi Rosso pepper is especially suitable for roasting, grilling, and pickling, making it a good variety for antipasti. The Marconi pepper variety is known for its mild flavor and has a Scoville rating of 0-1000.

(Capsicum annuum 'Marconi') The Marconi pepper is that it was named after Guglielmo Marconi, the Italian inventor and electrical engineer who is credited with inventing the radio.
