Janet Leger (b. Northampton 1931) is a painter and printmaker whose work was reproduced as popular limited edition prints by Fine Art Editions, and who was noted for subjects such as nuns on beaches, red telephone boxes and people at the seaside. These were photographed or sketched, then worked up in the studio. Two Curwen Press lithographs are held by the Tate Gallery. Ledger was part of a The Best of Britain exhibition in Dallas in 1985 and from that year showed solo with Linda Blackstone Gallery, Pinner.


THE PAINTING MEASURES APPROX. 12 X 9 INCHES AND THE FRAME MEASURES 16.25 X 13.25 INCHES.


THE PAINTING HAS A COUPLE OF MINOR SCUFFS AND WOULD BENEFIT FROM A LIGHT CLEAN - OTHERWISE IT IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE FRAME IS SCRATCHED AND NEEDS REPLACING.  (SEE PHOTOS).
